A critical measure of the success of the Resident Coordinator system is its ability to build coalitions of partners and supporters, and harness their strengths in support of 2030 Agenda. Its ability to do so facilitating partnerships with all stakeholders has continued to improve.

    In India, the Resident Coordinator convened think tanks, universities, the World Economic Forum, youth and other partners around UN’s efforts for a comprehensive set of initiatives to support the Government’s approach for responsible artificial intelligence tools, which also drew from UN Headquarters expertise.

    In Trinidad & Tobago, the strengthened partnerships with the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF) resulted in increased financial and technical support for education, food safety and security.

    In the Philippines, joint UN-World Bank planning led to a $600million loan in support of the national health sector response, including to strengthen COVID-19 laboratory capacity vaccinations.

    In Tanzania, the UN team, private sector and Government are boosting technological platforms in agriculture, benefitting over 2 million farmers with access to market information.

    In Thailand, the Resident Coordinator convened the Global Compact Network and the Government’s pension fund, rallying 43 financial institutions with US$1.3trillion in assets to align their financial flows with the SDGs and to achieve for net-zero greenhouse gas emissions commitments by 2050 in their operations.
