Deputy Secretary-General and UN chiefs measure the COVID-19 recovery efforts
The Deputy Secretary-General, Amina Mohammed, met this morning with the chiefs of all UN entities working on sustainable development to review the progress made in the last year against sustainable development priorities on the COVID-19 recovery.
The UN Sustainable Development Group agreed to continue the UN reform implementation to meet the demand of the 2030 Agenda.
For the first time, the Group endorsed an accountability framework that brings together the UN system at all levels towards the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. This is centred around the strengthened leadership of Resident Coordinators, in line with reforms of the UN development system. The Group also discussed the way forward in advancing the “Our Common Agenda” report, which the Secretary-General launched on Friday.
